Text of Psalm 73
Truly, I have often wondered why the wicked thrive and prosper, while those who desire to live rightly seem to struggle.
I almost slipped and lost my footing, overwhelmed by envious thoughts and doubts.
Yet, I found myself entering God's sanctuary, where I perceived their final destiny.
Surely, their fleeting pleasure leads to emptiness and destruction; God will bring them to justice in the end.
As for me, my heart was bitter, my thoughts troubled, until I entered God's presence.
Then I understood that my perspective was limited; I had been blinded by envy and resilience.
Surely, those who trust in riches and pride set themselves against the holy; but they are ultimately vulnerable.
Their wealth will fade, and their arrogance will be silenced by divine justice.
When I saw their confidence and ease, I was envious, but I also questioned my own faith.
Nevertheless, I realized that God's presence is my refuge; He remains my ultimate achievement, my Achrit.
Whom have I in heaven but You? And on earth, I desire nothing but Your closeness.
My flesh and heart may fail, but God is my strength and portion forever.
Though I am surrounded by doubt and suffering, I will trust in Your final victory.
Lord, help me to keep my eyes fixed on Your sanctuary, on my true destination.
As I meditate on Your goodness, I find peace amid chaos and envy.
Teach me to understand the fate of the wicked, and to rejoice in Your justice.
May my life reflect Your wisdom, and my heart stay anchored in Your holy presence.
